Find some cultural places and be amazed by the most stunning view on the island

Kintamani is name of a district on this island, it is situated on the altitude of 1.300 meters above sea level which makes the area fresh and cool. Its main tourism attraction is the stunning view of an active volcano named Mt. Batur and its crater lake called Lake Batur which has been accredited as UNESCO’s Global Geopark Network (GGN-UNESCO). You can also see locals grow their cash crops such us mandarin orange, cabbage, tomato, chili, merry gold flowers and many others. On this tour we will also stop at Gunung Kawi Temple, Tirta Empul Temple, and famous Tegallalang Rice Terrace.

Gunung Kawi Temple

This temple complex consists of a few ancient shrines carved on the rock cliff which was built in 11 century. It is located in the middle of the island surrounded by beautiful rice field and in front of the shrines flows historical river of Pakerisan. To get to this temple you have to walk through 300 steps in the middle of rice field.

Tirta Empul Temple

This Hindu temple was built in 10th century by a king named Sri Chandrabhayasingha Warmadewa. The name Tirta Empul consist of two words “Tirta” means holy water and “Empul” means come out of the ground (spring). In this site you can find holy spring which is used for worshiping as well as purification ceremony by Balinese Hindu followers.

Penelokan

Penelokan is name of a village located at the north east of the island, literally translated Penelokan means a place to see a view over. From this area you could see the incredible view of Mt. Batur and its Crater Lake. We will serve your lunch here overlooking the volcano as well as the lake.

Tegallalang Rice Terrace

After having lunch overlooking the great view of the volcano and the lake, on the way back to your hotel we will take you to see one of the most famous and beautiful rice terrace on the island called Tegallalang. It is located in the center of the island, you can walk around the terrace and see how local farmers grow rice.
